Dig deeper at SERNEC, a consortium of southeastern herbaria.
Waxyleaf Privet is usually a lanky, tall evergreen shrub that may exceed 15 feet, with branches rather slender and spreading/drooping. The shiny and dark green leaves are narrowly lance-shaped and short-tapered to both ends. Read more at Vascular Plants of North Carolina.
Though seemingly established only rarely in parts of our area, this species has the potential to become another noxious "shrub weed" across the region, per Weakley's Flora (2022)

If a search such as "Carex leptalea var. leptalea" doesn't deliver the results you want, try "Carex leptalea".
Or, to minimize chances of a misspelling, try just "Carex le".
Less is more: If "pencil flower" doesn't deliver the results you want, try "pencil".
